GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS…

I hope you’re having a great weekend so far! I’m leading a private food tour today. 5 people, 7 bites, should be fun! These folks are from out of town, but I’ve had a lot of locals on my tours lately, and that’s been great! They always tell me that they haven’t been downtown in ages, and that I took them to places they had never been, and that they had a great time. I’m telling you what: If you’re a local, and you don’t like traffic, parking, and tourists, right now is the time to get yourself downtown and enjoy some of what it haas to offer! Yes, it’s cold outside, but it’s warm inside the restaurants, and this is the time of year that they need local support the most. Anyhoo…

THE RECOMMEND

As part of My Epic Delivery Journey I ordered a burger and wedge salad from the The Chop Shop Butchery‘s new food truck via KickbackAVL.com, and it was great! I’m just going to make a quick and simple recommendation for this burger. I went “classic,” single patty, and it was great! Like, really really great. The quality of the meat was top notch, the bun was perfectly soft and tasty, the cheese was American, and the LT (hold the O) was snappy and fresh. It hit every nail squarely on the head and the only thing I’ll do differently next time is add another patty!

Although not pictured here, the wedge salad was also very good. I like a good wedge salad, I’m basic AF.

HOLIDAY MENUS

As always, at this time of year, a bunch of your favorite restaurants have released their special holiday menus! They generally include “family style” meals, with all the fixin’s, seasonal pies and stuff like that. It’s one of the great things about being here in Asheville, where we enjoy a high concentration of excellent independent restaurants, all vying for your love and attention, especially during the holidays! Here’s a couple of holiday menus for you to check out, one from Black Bear BBQ and one from Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ. It is pure coincidence that they both sent me their Holidays menus at the same time, so I decided to share them with you today.

Be sure to check online, or call into your favorite restaurants to ask if they are offering a special holiday menu! If you need to know local restaurant holiday hours, you can look on AIR.org.
